Race Wrap - Le Mans 24 & V8SCOPS VIR

Big weekend for the team - Bigger result today.

The weekend we had drivers head in two directions, some to ViR and some to Le Mans and some even to both. We launched into the weekend at ViR with the final round of the V8 Supercar Online Premier Series Endurance Championship. The sprint races kicking off the weekend races, results setting our places for the grid on Sunday. Some up and down results in the races, but knew the 95 lap race on Sunday was key.

Le Mans: Saturday night and the iRacing Le Mans 24 hours race was going ahead for 2 FSR entries, one in the HPD and the other in GT1. Both teams making split two with and aim of sticking out of trouble and being there for the long haul. Unfortunate incident occurred early for the HPD team with another team coming back on track and collecting us. A early stop was on the cards to repair the damage and get back up to speed. For the GT1 team, a nice steady easy going start for them and pretty uneventful race really, just stuck to there own plan, strategy and staying out of trouble. A few incidents through the night saw the HPD suffer some time for repairs, but kept fighting and moved up a few positions in the closing hours of the race. While the GT1 guys, still kept to the safe and measured strategy, closing in on those in front, but running out of time. In the end, our HPD team of Craig Edwards, Matthew Barron, Rhys Gardiner, Josh Burdon and Kurt Stenberg crossed the line in P11 in class and outright and the GT1 entry of Dylan Shepherd, Brock Cremer, Scotty Harris and Scott Stephens coming home in P9 in class and 23rd outright. Congrats to our other Aussie teams in our split, SDC Motorsports and Evolution Racing Australia for there race and finishing the grueling race.

V8SCOPS ENDURANCE: Onto Sunday, a few of the drivers made the move back over to the V8 Endurance race. Results form Saturdays races mixed up our starting positions, some up the front and others down the back. Great battles and some good strategy calls moved some of the teams through the field, while incidents and crashed cars turned the worst for others. Looking for some solid results would give us all a good fighting chance of a nice points haul to round out the endurance side of the series.
#4 entry of Will Dodd and Josh Burdon, were the best finishers of the race for the teams, crossing in p12, #82 Heath Brennan & Scott Stephens P16, #47 Kurt Stenberg & Matt Ross-Munro P17 and #93 Scott Connors & David Lord P23.
Final standing came through today for the team and its very exciting for us. Two teams in side the top ten, with Kurt and Matt finishing the championship in P8 and and unbelievable enduro campaign put together by our #82 Heath Brennan and Scott Stephens entry finishing in P3.
Congratulations to TTL #28 Richard Hamstead and Jon Latham winning the Enduro cup and Synergy Sim Racing Michael Schreyer and David Moore for P2.

Overall a outstanding effort over the weekend and awesome result for the team with some brilliant results and trophies to go into the cabinet.
