Race Wrap - ESCC R3 & V8SCOPS

Back to back results for the team on the weekend. With Round 3 of the ESCC Endurance series heading to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit for 10 hours of racing.

The team had been working hard all week, some long hours and head scratching along the way. Add to that a mid week update throwing everything out the door and starting again. Our HPD Class A entry really dominated the race, a few hick ups in a few stints, but they had their act together, car pace and strategy that worked a treat. A great battle with one of the Dynamic Sim Racing Motorsports entries was going to be a battle to the line, but in the closing hours they were involved in a incident that put a end to that battle. The #145 stamping their authority on the race and winning the race with a two lap lead. Along the way picking up Pole Position, Most laps led, Fastest lap and the win.............The Quadrella.

For our GT3 teams, it was another great round result. Starting from the front row the #347 took control early and looked to be driving away from the field, opening up a 13+ second margin to the rest of the class. A timely pit stop just moments before the Safety Car was announced, gave them a big advantage and they extended that gap out to 30+ seconds and lapped up to 3rd place in class. The sister car #348 was also in the running to around half race sitting in a comfortable 3rd place after having started 8th. Unfortunately things turned sour in the last third of the race, both entries being involved in some incidents and dropping down the order, plus a mistake in a last ditch pit stop left the #347 finishing out in 2nd place and the #348 getting taken out and ending their run for 3rd, finishing up in 5th place.

Will Dodd was our lone driver for this round of the V8 Supercar Online Premier Series. Heading to the famous Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola for Round 2. With the unfortunate timing of some team restructure there wasn't a lot of set up work based around the V8 for this round. But Will showed great resilience and persistence finishing up the round in 17th position.

We now have a small break before the next round of hosted championship races. But that doesn't mean we wont be on track. Plenty of racing, setup work and practice to do. Add to that official races, so the boys will be busy busy.
