Race Wrap - ESCC R5 & V8SCOPS R5

The weekend saw the team competing in a couple of championships and finished up with a few unexpected results.
The team had Will Dodd flying the flag in the V8 Supercar Online Premier Series round at Watkins Glen, a fantastic effort of making top split. In a series where Will is the only driver in FSR still cutting laps, this is a great effort and we (the whole team) is so impressed and happy for Will and his results. While other teams are able to work together on sets, strategy etc, Will is our lone soldier, unfortunately a rare incident/mishap in the first race saw a penalty given and race marred with a PLP, Will decided strategy was to then take the CPS in the first race, giving him the advantage for the second race. Keeping out of trouble as best he could, Will drove to a outstanding P18 in race two with some of the elite drivers of the championship finishing down the order.

After a couple of weeks where the concentration was set around others series/championship, the Enduro team least expected Round 6 of the championship to be this weekend. Preparation had been the lowest for any of the rounds for ESCC Endurance this year. Adding to that, drivers not available due to personal commitments made the going even tougher. Having to spread our drivers sparsely it was a case of run what we brought and try to minimize the points damage. Again it seemed that at least one car had a target on its back, with a unfortunate mistake of judgement by another driver. This set the 348 car back and looking to try and make up time, these guys never seem to catch a break and could be on for podium places if not for the bad luck and races ruined by incidents caused by others. Eventually crossing the line again in P4. The 145 was in battle for podium and top step all race long in the minimized field. A great battle again with the Redback Racing Team - RRT for outright honors coming down to the final pit stop of the day. The 145 getting the better of the competition coming home in 1st position.

The 347 endured a great battle with Pro Force Racing and Selby Racing Team. With PFR dropping off and going a lap down in the closing hours, the fight for P1 was on to the end and the final round of pit stops again. FSR 347 taking the stop early, fuel and tyres (after a double stint) curiously waiting for Selby Racing to take theirs, running the gauntlet they took fuel and no tyres. With a fast closing 347 the strategy call they made and pulled off was enough to give Selby Racing victory by 4 odd seconds, the FSR guys coming home again in P2.

Looking into the week ahead, we have Will racing the Official iRacing Monday night SoF V8's, the endurance team competing the Tuesday night Midweek Sports-car Championship and Thursday SoF IMSA, plus starting preparations for the next round of ESCC and Scops. Busy busy nights ahead.
